Collins Gartrell worked with Bauer Media’s Story54 to create the ‘No Gender Selective Tax’ campaign. We provided creative and advocacy advice to build a campaign rallying against taxes placed on gender-specific goods including tampons, pads and sanitary items.

In July 2018 , the campaign ran across 36 of Bauer Media’s brands including Elle, The Australian Woman’s Weekly, Cosmopolitan and Woman’s Day.

In August 2018, then Treasurer, Scott Morrison, agreed it was time for the tax to go. In October COAG passed the reform.

Collins Gartrell understands how advocacy and advertising can combine to bring about real social change. The insights they brought to Bauer’s campaign to remove GST off tampons was crucial to our success. I’d recommend them to any organisation facing a complex public policy challenge.
